Bluebird Perfect

Yesterday was bluebird perfect up at Snowbowl. The tail-end of a high-pressure system, the weather was deluxe and, with frigid temperatures the days before, the snow was nice and consistent...for my first trip up to the bowl this season.

My skiing partners were Victoria, the birthday girl, and her two friends Katie and Olivia. Despite the "friends" ditching Victoria and I for some boys towards the end of the day and then subsequently being the last two skiers off the hill, escorted by ski patrol, the day was a pretty awesome.

Victoria is a natural thrill-seeker and really wanted to go down something "scary", so we hiked up and peeked over the edge of Airwalk (it was fun to see the girls look down an extreme line) and then, upon backing out of Airwalk, we peered down into West Bowl where an injured skier emergency evacuation was unfolding and reinforced the notion to stick with the easy, less-scary stuff.
