Causa Sui
Watched the documentary "Unprescribed" the other day and a couple things came to mind, one being that it seems like the war machine and prescription drugs are intertwined. It's almost a causa sui business model where you own the mine and also own the company paid to clean up after the mine. It's like creating a war so you can get all the construction contracts to rebuild the bombed buildings. In this case, we deploy an army to secure "interests" which then creates a group of soldiers returning home with injuries that require prescription pills. The more war the more soldiers the more pills the more war.
That being said, I am all in favor of weed being used in-place of pills and, having recently quit smoking weed myself, am noticing that I am dreaming again. For me, who is allergic to weed and grass, smoking ultimately made me feel too groggy and unproductive, so I quit (I like that I stopped right when my community legalized recreational use). I try to stay ahead of the curve.
The thing is that, while whoever does the dreaming for me makes really bad decisions, my dreams are definitely not nightmares and for soldiers who might be plagued by horrific dreams, smoking weed makes all the more sense. I sincerely hope they find peace, because reintroduction to society after the atrocities of war seems a wee bit iffy to me.
