4Missoula Facebook BINGO
Last night I ran an online BINGO game using Facebook Live and it worked pretty well. After a scrub launch on the first attempt, we had only one person buy cards, the second attempt had two players (they didn't know that), so we were a go!
What I'm particularly proud of is my BINGO spreadsheet. I made the whole thing myself and you can find a link to it on this page - https://www.4missoula.com/facebook-bingo. Use it however you like. I just happen to be doing a Facebook Live game with it.
As I began calling the game last night I began to get a little nervous as the B Column wasn't getting any draws and I was afraid I somehow broke the code, or worse, that a hacker had taken over (I have been getting a barrage of suspicious emails lately). I literally sweated through it and finally there was a B breakthrough and then we even had a winner! So, after deducting the 15% operating fee, the winner will receive $20.40 (likely back to a PayPal account, or maybe a check) and 4Missoula will get $3.60. A modest start, but the game can scale up to 400 cards (we had 12 last night) with a winning payout of $680 and operating revenue of $120 - basically one skateboard donation.
There were lessons from last night, for one - no background music. I was jamming out and it turns out that, probably since one of the players was in Canada, there was a copyright infringement and Facebook gave me the option of either muting the video or deleting it. Since the video makes absolutely no sense without sound I chose to delete the video as to not confuse. Strangely, the video had already served it's purpose. It worked and we're on to the next one.
It would be fun to do this every night. Here's where to tune in to - https://www.facebook.com/4Missoula
Primetime, baby!
