#riseofthebuffalo

To express this subject in words is a challenge, as the concept is hard to grasp and pretty far out, but allow me to try.

Our connection to nature is innate. It's an awareness, beyond the physical realm, of our place in the world and when we sense incongruency we need to change our position, either physically or mentally.

Here's the far out part: I sense incongruency with the eradication of the buffalo and feel the need to reposition the world. Let's think of the buffalo as a metaphor for nature. Capitalism and racism fueled the decimation of the buffalo and disturbed our innate connection to nature. To indigenous Americans, who lived in connection with the buffalo for thousands of years, the buffalo was more than a product, more than money (to be accumulated), the buffalo was food, shelter, and provided for culture and a deep sense of spirituality.

I feel like we, as Americans today, are suffering from the same system that killed off the buffalo. Our access to food, shelter, and spirituality have been lost as a cost of doing business. To restore nature and free Americans from this shame we must change and put the buffalo first.
Let's bring back the buffalo and realign our country.
